The Trending section surfaces the most active civic topics in your LGA, state, and nationally. The Search feature lets you find posts, users, topics, and companies across the whole platform.
Trending topics
Trending topics are hashtags and subjects that are being discussed actively right now. SoroSoke calculates trends based on post volume, verification activity, and geographic concentration — so a topic trending heavily in Kano may be different from one trending in Lagos.
Trending topics are shown in three scopes:
- LGA — topics popular within your specific Local Government Area.
- State — topics popular across your state.
- Nigeria — nationwide trending topics.
Tap any trending topic to see a feed of all posts tagged with that topic.
Searching for content
Tap the search bar at the top of the Trending screen to search across SoroSoke. As you type, results appear in real time across two tabs:
- Posts — posts whose text, topics, or LGA match your query.
- People — user profiles whose name or username match your query.
Searching for users
You can search for any registered user by their display name or @username. Tap a result to view their profile, see their posts, and follow them. Company profiles also appear in user search results.
Topic feeds
Tapping a hashtag anywhere on the platform — in a post, in search results, or in the trending list — opens a Topic Feed showing all posts tagged with that topic in chronological order. You can use this to follow an issue over time or find the latest updates from your community.
Search results are most useful when you use specific topic hashtags like #WaterSupplyAbuja rather than broad terms. Specific hashtags produce more focused topic feeds and make your own posts easier to discover.
