SoroSoke notifies you of activity on your posts and account. You can view all notifications in the Notifications tab (bell icon) and control which alerts you receive in Settings.
Types of notifications
- Likes — someone liked one of your posts or comments.
- Comments — someone commented on your post.
- Mentions — someone mentioned you using
@yourusernamein a post or comment. - Follows — someone started following you.
- Loud — someone amplified (Loud'd) one of your posts.
- Verify — someone verified one of your posts.
- Direct Messages — you received a new direct message.
- S-Points — you earned S-Points.
- System alerts — important updates from SoroSoke (policy changes, account actions).
Viewing your notifications
Tap the bell icon in the bottom navigation bar (mobile) or the left sidebar (web) to open the Notifications screen. A red badge on the icon shows the number of unread notifications. Tap any notification to navigate directly to the relevant post, comment, or conversation.
Push notifications
Push notifications deliver alerts to your device even when the app is not open. They require notification permissions to be granted. See About Push Notifications to learn how to enable them on Android.
Managing notification preferences
You can control which categories of notifications you receive. Go to Settings → Notifications (within the app) to toggle individual notification types on or off. For example, you might turn off "Likes" notifications while keeping "Mentions" and "Messages" active.
If push notifications aren't appearing on your device, check that the SoroSoke app has notification permission enabled in your device's system settings. On Android, go to Settings → Apps → SoroSoke → Notifications and ensure they are allowed.
