Help with Phone Number Registration

Registering with your phone number is the fastest way to create a SoroSoke account. Verification is done via a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS — no email address required.

How to sign up with your phone number

1. Open SoroSoke and tap Sign Up
   On the Welcome screen, tap Get Started or Sign up with Phone.

2. Enter your phone number
   Select your country code (Nigeria is +234) and enter your mobile number without the leading zero. For example, enter 08012345678 as 8012345678 after selecting +234.

3. Request the OTP
   Tap Send OTP. A 6-digit code will be sent to your number via SMS within 60 seconds.

4. Enter the OTP
   Type the 6-digit code in the verification field and tap Verify.

5. Complete your profile
   Enter your name, choose a username, and optionally add a profile photo. Tap Finish to complete registration.

Phone number requirements

• Must be a valid, active mobile phone number.
• Each phone number can only be associated with one SoroSoke account.
• Nigerian numbers and international numbers are both supported.
• The phone must be able to receive SMS messages.

OTP not arriving

• Confirm you entered the correct number including country code.
• Ensure you have mobile signal or data. Some OTPs are delivered over data networks.
• Check if your SIM is active and can receive SMS from international/shortcode senders.
• Wait up to 2 minutes before tapping Resend.

Changing your registered phone number

Go to Settings → Profile → Edit Profile to update your phone number. You will be required to verify the new number via OTP before the change is confirmed.
